EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL REGISTRATION

Fewer things in life give us more joy than spending time with our pets. Whether it’s taking your dog out for a walk or cuddling up with them at night, pets offer an unmatched companionship you can cherish for years.

What’s more, dogs can help people struggling with mental health problems perform daily tasks otherwise made difficult by their condition. Their dog can provide comfort and support, which ultimately makes their condition more manageable. Pets that help people improve their mental health are known as emotional support animals (ESAs).

ESA Registration offers high-quality products and services for pet owners looking for supplies, information, and ESA letters written by licensed professionals. Registering your animal on our site gives you the ability to receive offers on ESA products and services, keep up to date on legal changes on a national and state level, and purchase personalized products and ESA letters.

An emotional support animal (ESA) is a pet that provides comfort and support to its owner through companionship and affection. Unlike service animals, ESAs do not have special training to perform tasks for their owners. Instead, they are prescribed by a mental health professional as part of the owner’s treatment plan. The presence of an ESA can help reduce anxiety, depression, and other symptoms associated with mental illness. ESAs are protected under federal law, which allows them to live with their owners in housing that does not normally allow pets.

Emotional support animals (ESAs) can accompany their owners in public places, but they are not considered service animals and do not have the same rights as service animals. ESAs are protected under the Fair Housing Act (FHA), which means that property owners can not deny residents with ESAs and must make reasonable accommodations for them. However, property owners may set policies regarding the size and type of animal allowed, as well as require a letter from a licensed therapist stating that the owner has an emotional disability and needs an ESA. Additionally, some states have laws allowing ESAs in public places such as restaurants, stores, and other areas where pets are not usually allowed. It is important to check local laws before bringing an ESA into any public place.

ESA Registration connects you via a HIPAA-compliant video meeting with a therapist who will assess and determine if you qualify for an ESA letter. Companies and sites that offer auto-generated ESA letters without a therapist assessment should not be used and may be illegal.

To get an ESA, you must first obtain a letter from a licensed mental health professional stating that you have a diagnosed mental health condition and that the presence of an ESA would help alleviate your symptoms. Once you have the letter, your pet will be considered an emotional support animal.

ESA products such as vests and harnesses, ID’s, and leashes that can be personalized can make it easier for an owner to help identify their ESA in public.

While registering an ESA is not required by law, the benefits of being part of a community are numerous. This includes being kept up to date on legal changes, receiving deals on ESA products, and being put into our database which can help track your pet via our ESA ID should it ever get lost.
